Comfort Food Mid-Winter Warmers

Comfort food has its place on cold dark winter evenings when you are drawn towards earthy foods, the inkiness and richness of mushrooms, the sweetness of butternut squash, long slow cooking in organic ales, stews with large fluffy dumplings. Recipes that are comforting, sustaining & warming.

Most of the recipes you will make taste best served in large deep bowls, that you can eat on your knees in front of a blazing fire.

You will make for example rustic bread to dunk in mushroom and buckwheat soup, squash and smoked cheese scrunchies, chestnut mushroom & seitan carbonade, bangers & mash with rich onion gravy, vegetable & bean frenzy with patas bravas, chilli gremolata topped haloumi and puy lentil pasta, seville orange & almond cake and to finish our over the top apple and calvados sticky toffee pudding.
