Xmas Festive Cooking
Stuck for ideas for Christmas? Need some inspiration? Would like
to include some vegetarian or vegan choices? Or just fancy
something a little different from the usual.
Each Christmas, we come up with a completely new menu. We will cook
a selection of savoury nibbles, appetisers, main dishes and
puddings, which you can mix and match to cover the variety of meals
over the festive days.
We could do beetroot polenta with a watercress, avocado, flaked
almond & apple salad or tomatoes filled with festive
vegetables, black and red rice risotto with celeriac and potato
hash, char-grilled leeks, fennel and Jerusalem artichoke & red
wine jus.
Traditional dishes like our favourite nut and seed roast with all
the trimmings or borlotti bean & chestnut stew. There will be
over the top dishes such as gooey chocolate pudding with brandied
cherries, orange tuilles & vanilla creme anglaise,
We will have time to discuss stress busting techniques, making as
much as possible in advance, what dishes freeze well, so that when
the in-laws arrive you can put your feet up and relax with a glass
of bubbly. We finish the day with a relaxed Christmas Lunch with
organic cava to drink.
