Southern Indian Evening Class
Join us from 6.30-9 for an evening of delicious food from the South of India. The cuisine of the Southern India is perfect for vegetarian with the majority of people in Tamil Nadu and Kerela eating a vegetarian diet rich in spices and coconut and using fresh vegetables and pulses.
On this evening class you will learn to make your own Southern Indian spice blends, how to prepare unusual Indian ingredients and practice the most important skill of Indian cookery-balancing flavours. We will cook a variety of dishes which may include chow chow and methi coconut curry, vengai sambhar (South Indian dal), fresh mango chutney and banana puris with fiery potato bondas. We will finish with a delicious Thali meal which we will have made together in a combination of demonstrations and hands on cookery.
During the evening you will be given tasters of the dishes made and a main meal and pudding with specially selected organic wine or fruit juice. You will be given a recipe file of all the dishes made so you can recreate them at home.
