Introduction to French Patisserie
An introduction to French baking, pastry and sweet making with Helen Lawrence who grew up cooking with her French grandmother, and teaches on our French cooking holiday at Chateau Ventenac.
Helen will show you step by step techniques for shortcrust pastry, puff pastry or choux. Other recipes on the day may include crème patisserie filled fruit tartlets, boulangerie, shortbread, roulade, chocolate mousse, ganache, truffles and meringue. She’ll talk you through the techniques involved to help you achieve perfect results at home. You will work in small groups.
We will make a vegetarian lunch during the day and you will get to take home your creations, those that haven't been eaten straight from the oven.
Patisserie takes time to get right, so we will cover a maximum of four techniques in our Introduction day, we will run further patisserie courses for those who wish to achieve a complete schooling in patisserie.
Unfortunately this course is NOT suitable for VEGANS.
