An Evening Cooking with Barny Haughton
Come and join Barny Haughton (Rocinantes, Quartier Vert & Bordeaux Quay Restaurant & cookery school) for a fascinating evening workshop where he will share his passion for fresh seasonal produce and exciting flavours.
The evening will include demonstrations by Barny with plenty of his tips and tricks for creating restaurant quality dishes at home. We will make Fresh Pasta together and you’ll use it to make your own filled Ravioli with Sage Butter. Barny will also make a delicious Seven Spice Tagine with Charmoula and a Peppery Bulgar Salad with Preserved Seville Oranges. Barny’s signature dish is the Barleywood garden salad - a raw salad of seasonal vegetables, sliced petal-thin and tossed with a walnut oil dressing, soft leaves and fresh herbs.
Barny has been one of the leading lights in the Restaurant scene in the South West for the last 25 years. His restaurants Rocinantes, Quartier Vert and Bordeaux Quay Restaurant and Cookery School were renowned in Bristol for their quality and attention to the environment as well as the cuisine. Barny is one of our most celebrated West Country Chef Ambassadors for all things green, organic and slow. He is committed to food education in schools, the community and the home.
Barny and the cookery school team have recently moved the three short miles across Bristol from their old home at Bordeaux Quay to launch Square Food Foundation, a new cookery school concept at the Park in Knowle West
The evening will be a mixture of demonstration and some hands on and will finish with supper, made up of the dishes you’ve made served with a glass or two of organic wine. You’ll take home a recipe folder so that you can recreate the dishes.
This evening with one of the best chefs in the West Country will be a night to remember and is one not to be missed!
